the three that died in the yellow of autumn grass: Help me do that Sorting Hat thing for OUAT

corseque:

While making one of those Sorting Hat gifsets for Once Upon a Time, I’m finding I’m having a tough time deciding on a few of the characters. So, I want to ask my clever friends and fellow fans to sort the characters to see if there’s some sort of consensus.

If you have an opinion about which…

Ok I feel like I need to explain some of these HI I’M SORRY I HAVE A LOT OF OUAT/HP FEELINGS.

Snow and MM I honestly sort differently, since what makes Snow is missing from MM. MM would probably be Hufflepuff to me. Compassion and forgiveness (to a point) are her major defining characters. However, Snow is different. Snow is a surviver. She’s observant - knew the Huntsman wasn’t a normal guard, for example. She’s not above stealing or fighting to get what she wants. She’s driven and focused, cunning and charismatic. So Slytherin for her.

Emma - while also a surviver - has been shown to not go to the same lengths as her mother. She has a very strong moral compass and won’t do things that would betray her own heart. She’s loyal, blunt, practical and stubborn. Gryffindor. For many of the same reasons, so is Charming.

Regina is Slytherin. Which omfg I feel is such a cliche, labeling ~villains as Slytherin but she is. Her ambition is vengance and she’s very focused on that. She’s assertive, ruthless, and uses what she can to achieve her goals. But along with that, there’s a loyalty to her - even if it has been twisted by her experiences.

Rumplestiltskin is harder for me, for some reason. Where Regina is a Slytherdor, I feel Rumplestiltskin is a Slytherpuff. However, I feel Slytherin would be his dominant. He’s like a cowardly Narcissa Malfoy - he’d do anything it takes to protect those he loves /as long as/ it doesn’t set off his own survival instincts.

Henry - Ravenclaw. He’s curious, observant and believes in impossible things. Ravendor, however, as he has a Gryffindor’s bravery and willingness to sacrifice himself for what he believes in.

Belle - Hufflepuff. Loyal, honest, sees the best in those around her, good-hearted, accepting, dependable, fair and just, hard-working.

The others I just sort of went with my gut.

I wonder if James and Belle ever had chats between their dungeon cells about True Love
